A wider canvas for Bangladesh-UK ties has come into focus as Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met with British High Commissioner Sarah Cook.

The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in the Cabinet Division at the Secretariat on Sunday, according to the Prime Minister’s Assistant Press Secretary KM Nazmul Haque.

The two sides have discussed a range of issues concerning bilateral relations, including trade and investment, economic cooperation, education, skills development, migration and human resource development, Nazmul said.

They have also discussed continued UK support for Bangladesh’s economic development and prospects for expanding trade and investment between the two countries, he added.

The meeting reflected a shared interest in further strengthening the existing friendly relations between Bangladesh and the UK and identifying new areas of cooperation serving their mutual interests.
