Outgoing Bangladesh High Commissioner to Delhi M Riaz Hamidullah has paid a farewell call to Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri at the Ministry of External Affairs as he wraps up his tour-of-duty.

The two “reflected on the gamut of bilateral relations as well as cooperation under existing Bangladesh-India institutional mechanisms,” the Bangladesh High Commission, New Delhi said from its official X account on Wednesday.

“They recognised the vitality of diverse people-to-people connects; and expressed confidence that collective endeavours would result in meaningful and impact-driven collaboration in shared interests.”

Hamidullah concludes his time in Delhi 18 months after first joining. The Bangladesh government is sending him to Geneva as Bangladesh’s new permanent representative to the United Nations.

He is to be replaced by Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam, who received India’s formal consent to be appointed as the new high commissioner to Delhi on Sept 22.
