Twenty-four senior police officers, including three deputy inspectors general (DIGs) and nine superintendents of police (SPs), have been transferred in a major reshuffle.

Among those reassigned are 12 additional DIGs recently promoted to supernumerary posts.

The home ministry issued three separate notifications confirming the transfers on Sunday.

This follows an earlier shakeup on Sept 22, in which 31 senior police officials, including DIGs, were transferred.

Among the three DIGs affected, Md Akkas Uddin Bhuiyan of the Special Response Unit (SRU) and Md Mahmudur Rahman of the Special Branch (SB) have been posted to the Police Staff College.

Meanwhile, CID’s Mohammad Hasan Bari Noor has been posted to the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Police.

The additional DIGs reassigned in this round were serving in the Rangpur, Barishal, and Chattogram ranges, Khulna Metropolitan Police, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and Police Headquarters.

Those transferred at the SP level include officers from the Dhaka, Chattogram, and Barishal Metropolitan Police, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), Police Headquarters, and the Police Staff College.
