Reporters Against Corruption (RAC) has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of bdnews24.com Editor-in-Chief Toufique Imrose Khalidi.
In a condolence message on Friday night, RAC leaders prayed for the forgiveness of his departed soul.
The statement said, "Toufique Imrose Khalidi was a pioneer of journalism. He made an important contribution to the country's media through courageous and professional journalism. In the past, he was persecuted by the ruling party while conducting true and objective journalism. Despite various adversities, he remained steadfast to the principles and ideals of journalism and will remain an example to the journalistic community. His death is an irreparable loss to the journalism of the country.”
RAC President Shafiuddin Ahmed and General Secretary Tabarul Haque said: "Toufique Imrose Khalidi's journalistic career, courage and professional contributions will inspire new generations of journalists.
The journalist leaders expressed deep sorrow at his death and expressed their sincere condolences to the bereaved family, colleagues and well-wishers.
