A candid moment between Jaya Bachchan and veteran lyricist Gulzar at a Mumbai book launch has struck a chord with fans online.
Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Gulzar were among the guests at the launch of Dr P Jagannath’s book “DR BLUE: A Cancer Surgeon’s Journey into the Human Side of Healing”, Indian broadcaster NDTV reports.
Photos and videos from the event have since circulated widely on social media, but one particular clip has stood out.
In the video, Gulzar is seen standing beside Jaya on stage with an arm around her as the two chat. At one point, Jaya breaks into laughter.
That was enough to set social media talking.
“First time seeing genuine smile on Jaya’s face and jealousy on Amitabh Bachchan. How the tables have turned,” one user wrote.
“She is cute,” another commented.
A third user turned the attention to Gulzar’s charm.
“Just imagine the conversation skills of Gulzar Saheb. What kind of poetry must he have recited that Jaya Bachchan is laughing?” the post read.
Jaya and Gulzar share a long professional association and have worked together on films including “Guddi” and “Koshish”.
Gulzar has also collaborated with Amitabh on several projects over the years, with their association extending beyond cinema through a shared interest in literature and poetry.
