Remittance inflows to Bangladesh slowed in September, with expatriates sending home $2.77 billion -- the lowest monthly amount in 11 months.
The figure was still 3 percent higher than the $2.69 billion received in September last year, according to updated Bangladesh Bank data released on Thursday.
The slowdown marks a break from the record-setting pace seen earlier in the year.
Remittances had exceeded $3 billion a month for six consecutive months through May, before falling below that mark in June.
The latest figures show $2.82 billion came in June, followed by $2.86 billion in July and $2.97 billion in August.
Despite the recent slowdown, remittance growth remained strong in the first quarter of the 2026-27 fiscal year.
Bangladesh received $8.59 billion from July to September, up 13.3 percent from $7.59 billion during the same period a year earlier.
Remittances surged to unprecedented levels in the previous fiscal year, reaching a record $35.59 billion. The country had received $30.33 billion in 2024-25.
The strongest monthly inflow in the recent record-setting run came in March, when expatriates sent $3.75 billion. May followed with $3.44 billion, while December recorded $3.22 billion.
