Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Ashish Ranjan Das passed the order on Thursday after disposing of the rules issued in 2011 and 2012 following three petitions.
Hassan M S Azim, a lawyer for the petitioners, said the High Court declared the operations of mobile courts by executive magistrates illegal and unconstitutional. At the same time, 14 sections and sub-sections of the law have been declared annulled.
The court ordered the law to be revised in line with the Masdar Hossain decision or the creation of a new law for the operations of mobile courts, Azim said.
The petitions were awaiting a decision from the court after the end of hearings in March.
