First ship of the season sails for St Martin’s Island
After a long wait amid uncertainty and administrative complications, the first ship carrying tourists to St Martin’s Island has finally launched. The ship, MV Baro Awlia, left the BIWTA jetty in Nuniachara, Cox's Bazar town at 7:30am on Thursday, Nov 5, 2026, for the coral island, carrying about 800 tourists. Although the tourist season started on Nov 1, travellers had to wait for five days for permission.
