Dhaka, Dec 1 (bdnews24.com) – Bangladesh High Commission in Kolkata will hold a three-day film festival from Dec 9 to mark the 40th anniversary year of the War of Liberation.
The festival, titled 'Liberation War of Bangladesh on Celluloid', will feature six films: Matir Moina, Joy Jatra, Guerrilla, Amar Bandhu Rashed, Khelaghar and Khando Galpo 1971, says reports news agency PTI.
The event will be jointly arranged from Dec 9 to 11 by the Bangladesh High Commission, New Delhi, and the Directorate of Film Festivals, Indian ministry of information and broadcasting.
The six films were made by four directors: late Tareque Masud, Nasiruddin Yousuf, Morshedul Islam,Touquir Ahmed and Badrul Anam Saud between 2002 and 2011.
Actress Joya Ahsan, along with all the directors whose films will be screened, will attend the event. Also in attendance will be Faridur Reza Sagar who has produced four of the six films.
The festival will be held at Nandan-I in Kolkata then travel to Agartala and New Delhi in February and March 2012, respectively.
