Dhaka, April 20 (BDNEWS) – In a major shocker in the country's music industry, country's leading sound engineer Imran Ahmed Chowdhury Mobin was killed in a road accident at Choddogram in Comilla early Wednesday.
Also, two members of popular band group, 'Black' and driver of the microbus they were traveling by were injured.
The injured were identified as Tony, drummer and Miraj, bass guitarist of the group and Iqbal, driver of the microbus. Miraj is also a student of English Department of Dhaka University.
They were brought to Pongu Hospital in Dhaka.
Condition of Tony, who received injuries in his feet, is out of danger while Miraj underwent a surgery as he sustained critical wounds in different parts of the body.
Black's lead vocalist John, vocalist-cum key-boardist Tasan and Jahan, guitarist, escaped unhurt the accident.
Grameen Phone sources said that all the injured will be sent to Bangkok for treatment.
Friends of the group said the microbus carrying five members of the 'Black' met the tragic accident when they were returning Dhaka after attending a concert in Chittagong Tuesday.
DJUICE, a new package of Grameen Phone, organised the concert where also Indian Idol sensations Amit Sana and Rahul Saxena performed.
Quoting injured, Sentu, a friend of the group, said after they started from Choddogram having some refreshments the rear wheels of the microbus deflated and the vehicle turned turtle into a roadside ditch.
Mobin, who was once bass guitarist of Feelings and Winning band groups died on the spot.
"Mobin was the most updated person in electronic sound system. His death is an irreparable loss to the country's music industry," leading singer Aiyub Bachchu told BDNEWS.
