Bangladesh's Team Atlas has been crowned world champions in the Entrepreneurship Challenge at RoboRAVE Osaka 2026, an international robotics competition held in Japan.

The young innovators outperformed competitors from 19 countries during the contest, which took place from Aug 10 to 12 at the Osaka International Convention Center, the team said in a statement.

Team Atlas presented HydrAZ, an AI‑powered smart aquaculture platform that integrates IoT, Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision technologies.

The system monitors fish‑farm water quality, fish behaviour and feeding management, analyses risks and provides advice.

The Entrepreneurship Challenge evaluated innovative thinking, problem‑solving skills, technological knowledge and entrepreneurial vision.

Teams from 19 countries participated in this year's Entrepreneurship Challenge: China, Singapore, Thailand, Macau, Egypt, the Philippines, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Tunisia, South Korea, Bangladesh, Japan, Taiwan, Poland, Greece, Canada, the United States and Slovakia.

Team Atlas was mentored by Sunny Jubayer and Jannatul Ferdous, both of BRAC University.

The student members are Albee Ahmed Khan Ahnab, Md Safwat Zaman and Aranee Saha of St Joseph International School.

By completing the different stages of the competition and securing the world championship title, Team Atlas has highlighted Bangladesh's capabilities in international robotics and innovation, according to the statement.

The team said the support of its mentors, families, friends and well-wishers played an important role in the achievement and expressed gratitude to them.
