FIFA President Infantino to join Bangladesh youth festival in January

Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has sought the FIFA chief’s help to bring reputed women’s football teams to Bangladesh

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has accepted an invitation from Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus to join the Youth Festival in Bangladesh in January.

Infantino is among several global leaders and key officials who met the chief advisor on the sidelines of COP-29 in the Azerbaijan capital of Baku on Tuesday.

Yunus briefed him about the festival and sought his help to bring reputed women’s football teams to Bangladesh.

Infantino is the ninth president of FIFA and was first elected to the post in 2016. He was re-elected to the position of the international footballing body in 2019 and 2023.
