Bangladesh are set to play two friendly matches in Nepal in the September FIFA window, as a part of their preparations for the upcoming group stages matches in the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers.

On Sunday, the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) confirmed the friendly matches against Bangladesh on their official website.

To prepare for the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, Nepal will play the first friendly match against Bangladesh on Sep 6. Three days later, the two teams will face each other in the second friendly match at the Dasarath Stadium in Kathmandu.

In the qualifiers, Nepal is in Group F with Malaysia, Laos, and Vietnam. They have played two matches so far and lost both. They will play against Vietnam on Oct 9.

In the Group C qualifiers, Bangladesh have played two matches so far. They started the qualifiers with a goalless draw against India and lost 2-1 to Singapore at home last June. Bangladesh will face Hong Kong in their next match in Dhaka on Oct 9.

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) had announced their intention to play friendly matches in the September window to prepare for the Hong Kong match.

When contacted by phone, BFF General Secretary Imran Hossain Tushar did not respond.
