A total of 11 people, including a woman aspirant, collected the forms on Sunday.
Election Commission (EC) officials said 13 aspiring contestants had collected the nomination papers since the poll schedule was announced on Wednesday.
As per the schedule, they can collect and submit the nomination papers until Mar 29.
The last date for the withdrawal of candidature is Apr 9 with voting fixed for Apr 28.
The returning officer of the Dhaka North City Corporation is working out of the district election office at West Agargaon and that of Dhaka South City Corporation from Gulistan’s Dhaka Mahanagar Natyamancha.
Dhaka North Returning Officer Nazrul Islam said eight mayor aspirants, including Jatiya Party-backed Bahauddin Ahmed Babul, Helena Jahangir, Boby Hajjaj and Communist Party of Bangladesh-backed Abdullah Al Kafi Ratan, had collected their papers.
Jatiya Party Chairman Hussein Muhammad Ershad has already expelled his adviser Hajjaj for contesting without the party’s consent.
Former student leader Kafi Ratan is the president of Juba Union.
Jatiya Swadhinata Party’s Moazzem Hossain Khan Majlish, Shamsul Alam Chowdhury, Anisuzzman Khokan and Zaman Bhuyian are the others who collected nomination papers for the Dhaka North City Corporation poll.
The ruling Awami League has decided to back business leader Annisul Huq in the mayoral contest in this city corporation.
Kamal Ahmed Majumder, Awami League MP from Mirpur, has also expressed his eagerness to take part in the mayoral contest in the Dhaka North City Corporation.
Mohammad Akhtaruzzman, Bahran-e-Sultan Bahar and Reazuddin collected nomination papers to fight the mayoral contest in the Dhaka South City Corporation.
The Returning Officer for this city corporation, Nawabul Islam, said over 100 councillor aspirants had collected the nomination papers on Sunday.
