AL takes 2 of 3 Naogaon seats

Two of the three seats at stake in Naogaon have gone to ruling Awami League in the general elections.

An independent candidate took the third seat in Sunday’s polls.

According to Returning Officer Farid Ahmed, Awami League candidate Abdul Malek won from Naogaon-5 with 44238 votes

His nearest contestant Rafiqul Islam got 37390 votes.

Ruling party candidate Imajuddin Pramanik won from Naogaon-4 with 60349 votes.

His nearest contestant Jatiya Party (Manju) candifdate Saidur Rahman got 9965 votes.

Awami League rebel candidate Akram Hossain Chowdhury won from Naogaon-3 (Bodolgachhi-Mohadebpur) securing 74040 votes.

His nearest rival was the party’s Akram Hossain Chowdhury, who got 46863 votes.

Altogether 32.23 percent votes were cast in the three seats on Sunday.
