Bangladesh has registered three more deaths from suspected measles symptoms over the last 24 hours, taking the nationwide toll from such complications to near 750.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the latest figures on Wednesday in its regular epidemiological bulletin.
The health directorate clarified that since Mar 15, laboratory tests have confirmed 93 deaths directly from measles, while 652 individuals died after presenting corresponding symptoms.
Dhaka Division logged the highest number of suspected measles deaths at 283, followed by Rajshahi 89, Sylhet 86, Mymensingh 62, Chattogram 53, Barishal 41, Khulna 29 and Rangpur nine.
The DGHS said 796 people with measles symptoms sought treatment in the past 24 hours, with 748 admitted to hospitals.
The admissions included 264 in Dhaka, 162 in Chattogram, 115 in Barishal, 64 in Sylhet, 49 in Khulna, 42 in Mymensingh, 40 in Rajshahi and 12 in Rangpur.
Since the outbreak began, 91,270 patients have been admitted to hospitals, with 87,628 discharged.
The country has so far recorded 108,180 suspected measles cases and 13,070 confirmed infections.
