Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit has impressed Amitabh Bachchan with an impromptu performance of her popular song “Kaahe Chhed Mohe” during a special episode of “Kaun Banega Crorepati” Season 18.
Madhuri appeared as a guest contestant on the quiz show as part of a special birthday week dedicated to Bachchan.
During the episode, Bachchan asked the computer to play “Kaahe Chhed Mohe”, the classical song from the 2002 period drama “Devdas”, in which Madhuri played the character Chandramukhi.
Dressed in a pink outfit, Madhuri recreated the character’s performance while seated on the hot seat, using expressive facial movements and classical hand gestures.
The performance drew cheers from the audience, while Bachchan was seen walking around the set, clapping and applauding.
Impressed by her performance, Bachchan said, “Incredible, incredible, Madhuri ji!”
Sony Entertainment Television shared a video of the moment on social media with the caption: “Madhuri’s style, special for all. Watch Kaun Banega Crorepati, Mon-Fri at 9pm, only on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV.”
Madhuri's appearance comes as she prepares to return to television as a host after 24 years.
She will host “Kon Honar Crorepati”, the Marathi adaptation of the “Kaun Banega Crorepati” franchise, becoming the first woman to take the host's chair in the regional version.
The show, which premiered in 2013, has previously been hosted by personalities including Sachin Khedekar, Nagraj Manjule and Swapnil Joshi.
As host, Madhuri will interact with contestants, hear their personal stories and guide them through the quiz as they attempt to answer a series of challenging questions.
The actress is expected to bring her own style to the popular quiz format with the new season of Kon Honar Crorepati.
