PM Tarique presides over ECNEC meeting at Secretariat

Several senior ministers are present at the high-level economic planning session

A scheduled meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has begun at the Secretariat with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman presiding.

The session began at the Secretariat, the nerve centre of Bangladesh's administration, on Wednesday morning, according to the Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman.

He confirmed that the meeting is under way under committee Chairman Tarique.

Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, who serves as the committee's alternative chairman, is also present.

Other attendees are Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Energy Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood Tuku, Social Welfare Minister AZM Zahid Hossain, Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu, Agriculture Minister Amin Ur Rashid Yasin, Culture Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury, Water Resources Minister Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee, Health Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain, and Communications Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam.

Relevant ministerial secretaries are also present at the session.
