Rain has delayed the start of play on Day 3 of Bangladesh’s opening Test against Zimbabwe in Sylhet.
The Tigers closed out play on Monday at 57-1, trailing Zimbabwe by 25 runs.
Mominul Haque (15*) and Mahmudul Hasan Joy (28*) will be looking to overcome the deficit and set a defensible target for the visitors.
Despite being behind, all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz still believes Bangladesh are in control.
Nazmul Hossain Shanto’s side are overcoming an 82-run deficit after a middle order collapse saw the Tigers stumble to 191 in the first innings despite solid knocks from Mominul (56) and the skipper (40).
A five-wicket haul from Miraz kept Zimbabwe from racking up an imposing lead, but Sean Williams (59) and Brian Bennett (57) managed to take them to 273.
After making a solid start to the second innings, Bangladesh will be hoping to build on their momentum when the match is again underway.
