Wicketkeeper-batsman Quazi Nurul Hasan Sohan and top-order batter Saif Hassan have been recalled to Bangladesh’s T20 squad as the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced the team for next month’s Asia Cup in the UAE.
The same squad will also play the three-match T20 international series against the Netherlands in Sylhet, starting on Aug 30.
Sohan, 31, returns to the national team after nearly three years, having featured in the format during the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia.
His recent form in the Top End T20 Series in Australia, where he scored 109 runs at a strike rate of 117.20, earned him a recall.
Saif, meanwhile, returns to the senior setup after two years, having shown glimpses of improvement in the same series with 117 runs at a 130 strike rate.
Litton Das will lead the 16-strong side, which blends established names with emerging talent.
Alongside experienced campaigners like Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam, the selectors have kept faith in youngsters Tanzid Hasan and Tawhid Hridoy.
Shamim Hossain and Jaker Ali Anik keep their places, while allrounders Shak Mahedi Hasan and Saif Uddin offer balance to the squad.
Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain and left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed provide variety in the spin department.
