International Standard University (ISU) and Malaysia’s Asia e University (AeU) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand higher study opportunities, strengthen academic collaboration and promote joint research initiatives.
The MoU signing and a discussion titled “Exploring Higher Study Opportunities” were held at the ISU auditorium on Thursday, organised by the university’s Centre for Research, Development, and Publications (CRDP), according to a media statement.
Associate Prof Norlina Binti Kamudin, vice-president of Group Talent Management and Development at AeU, and Associate Prof Swa Lee Lee, director of the university’s School of Graduate Studies, attended the event.
The session was chaired by ISU Treasurer Prof HTM Quader Newaz.
Among the special guests were Prof Md Abul Kashem, dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Prof Hakikur Rahman, chairperson of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Prof Mohammad Ali of the Department of Business Administration, and ISU Registrar Md Faizullah Kawshik.
Prof Kamudin said the collaboration would create new avenues for students to pursue internationally recognised higher education and research opportunities, while also strengthening ISU’s global academic standing.
Prof Lee described the MoU as more than a formal agreement, but as a milestone that would deepen academic cooperation between the two institutions.
Speakers at the event highlighted prospects for postgraduate education, faculty exchange, collaborative research and academic mobility between ISU and AeU.
The agreement is expected to open new pathways for ISU students and faculty members to pursue higher education and research opportunities at AeU, said the statement.
