The government has decided to keep CNG filling stations open 24 hours a day for 13 days to ensure a smooth journey for holidaymakers during Eid-ul-Azha.

The decision has been taken as part of efforts to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply to keep passenger vehicle movement on highways running normally.

The Energy and Mineral Resources Division wrote to Petrobangla chairman on May 13, directing the necessary arrangements to be made.

The letter said CNG stations must remain open round the clock for seven days before Eid, on the day itself, and for five days after -- covering the period from May 21 to Jun 2.
