Former central bank deputy governor Khurshid Alam to lead Islami Bank

He takes the reins as sudden resignations shake the board

Md Khurshid Alam, a former Bangladesh Bank deputy governor who resigned amid pressure following the fall of the Awami League government, has been appointed chairman of Islami Bank Bangladesh.

He was named for the role immediately after the resignation of the bank’s chairman M Zobaidur Rahman from the position on Sunday.
