Cox's Bazaar, Sept 6 (bdnews24.com)—The son of state minister for local government Jahangir Kabir Nanak has been killed in a road crash at Chokoria on Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway, police say.
Sayem-ur Rahman Sayem, 28, died on the spot near Fanshiakhali area under Chokoria upazila around 11:40pm on Tuesday when the microbus carrying him and others veered off into a water-filled ditch by the wayside, the officer-in-charge of Chokoria Police Station said.
Sayem, who was driving the vehicle, lost control of the microbus after a tyre had exploded, OC Mohammad Farhad added.
Nanak's brother-in-law Syed Golam Piu, 35, and another Enamul Kabir, 30, were injured in the accident and were sent to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital.
The microbus caught fire immediately after it had tumbled. Fire fighters rescued the two and recovered the body of Sayem.
His body was kept at Chokoria Police Station, Farhad added.
