Japan’s development agency, JICA, says 11 new volunteers will work in Bangladesh for the next two years.
Seven of them will work in the health sector, two in environment education, one in Women Technical Training College in Rajshahi, and one as a basketball coach in Bangladesh Krira Shikhkha Protisthan (BKSP) at Savar.
JICA’s volunteer programme has been one of its core programmes in the country for the last 40 years through which Japan is extending technical support to Bangladesh in diverse sectors.
Currently 74 such volunteers are working in different sectors.
They learn Bengali and work even at remote villages with Bangladeshi communities.
