Police detained three local youths after the incident that occurred early on Thursday.
Injured Nargis Akhter, 40, a housewife, was admitted to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). Her husband is a businessman.
The miscreants barged into the house on the first floor at Modhypara around 2:30am, said Jatrabari Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Emranul Islam.
As Akhter tried to stop them the criminals stabbed her and chopped off four fingers of her right hand.
