Dhaka, Feb 22 (bdnews24.com) - Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury, a former army chief widely respected for his honesty and professionalism, will lead efforts to catch the corrupt as new chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission.
AH Manzur Mannan, the former Customs officer who retired as member of the National Board of Revenue, will sit alongside him on the Commission. During his time in civil service, Mannan was reputed as one of those officers who never compromised their service standards.
A former district judge, Habibur Rahman, will take the other seat on the graft watchdog, the Press Information Department said in a statement Thursday.
The appointments are part of the interim government's broader measure to recast the sleaze watchdog.
