Dhaka, Oct 8 (bdnews24.com) — Mobile phone operator Grameenphone has launched a daily news service.
Grameenphone subscribers now can listen to the latest news, provided by bdnews24.com, Bangladesh's first online newspaper, every evening.
Subscribers will get a call every evening after they register for 'Grameenphone News Call'.
They will listen to the top national and international news of the day by receiving the call.
To subscribe, clients have to go to message option on their handset, type 'VN' and send it to 2000. To cancel the subscription, one will write 'VN_off'.
The charge of the service is Tk 1 a minute, excluding VAT. This is the latest addition of Grameenphone's news portal 2000. Voice news of five categories in English and Bengali is broadcast by bdnews24.com .
The categories are 'News Headlines' with top national and international news, 'International News', 'Bangladesh News' on political, economical, cultural and other events of the country, 'Business News' and 'Sports News'.
In addition, one can listen to district-based news by dialling 2000. Subscribers also get breaking news for latest important event, hourly news and news SMS for latest news on the number.
