RAB officials have yet to confirm the names and the identities of the detainees.
Mufti Mahmud said, “We will confirm everything later.”
A Jabale Noor Paribahan bus had struck and killed two students as they were standing at the foot of the Zillur Rahman flyover on Sunday.
The dead had been identified as Abdul Karim and Dia Khanom Mim, students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College.
Dia’s father Jahangir Alam filed a murder case against Jabale Noor Paribahan for causing her death through reckless driving, said Cantonment Police SI Umme Salma.
Students took to streets again on Monday morning, blocking Airport Road.
“We are trying to explain the situation to the students and remove them from the road,” said police investigation officer Riyad Ahmed. “We cannot say much more at this point.”
