Chittagong, April 9 (BDNEWS) – Chase and counter-chase between the leaders and workers of two rival organisations Saturday marked the CBA election of Chittagong port scheduled to be held on Sunday.
Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad (SKOP) alleged, leaders and activists of Jatiya Sramik League (JSL) prevented them during their electioneering twice at 11am and 12 noon resulting in chase and counter-chase.
SKOP filed a general diary against Naderuddin Patwari, Sirajul Islam and Saifur Rahman of JSL with the Bandar thana.
Additional police forces were deployed to bring the situation back to normalcy.
Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad (SKOP), Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal (JSD), Jatiya Sramik League (JSL) and Islami Sramik Shangha will vie for the election.
A faction of SKOP boycotted the election complaining of splashing a huge amount of money in the election campaigns.
