A Bangladeshi expatriate has been killed in a Houthi attack on an Aramco facility in Al-Khurais in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the death in a statement on Monday, saying Md Sajib Hossain was killed on Sunday by a “missile or drone” launched by the Houthis.

He hailed from Cumilla, the ministry said, expressing “deep shock and sorrow” over his death and condemned the attack.

“The ministry extends its sincere condolences to the bereaved family and relatives of the deceased,” it said.

The Embassy of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Riyadh, has contacted Sajib’s family and employer and is providing necessary assistance, the ministry said.

“The embassy is coordinating with the relevant Saudi authorities regarding the completion of formalities for his remains and their repatriation to the country,” it added.
