Security forces have arrested a Buddhist monk in Bandarban with 2,745 yaba or methamphetamine tablets produced in Myanmar's infamous 'Golden Triangle'.

National Security Intelligence (NSI) and Detective Branch (DB) of police personnel arrested Waina Swara, 33, near Hotel Hillbird on Wednesday afternoon, DB OC Rafikullah Bhuyian said.
The NSI and DB conducted a raid in the area on a tip-off and arrested the Buddhist monk with the smuggled pills.
Bandarban Police Station Inspector Mohammad Amir Hossain said a case was filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act.
