The interim government has scrapped employment contract of MAN Siddique, the managing director at Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited, or DMTCL, and replaced him with Mohammad Abdur Rauf.
The Road Transport and Highways Division made the announcements in two separate notifications on Monday.
The notification, signed by Road Transport and Highways Division Assistant Secretary Saran Kumar Barua, said Siddique’s contract has been terminated.
Rauf, an additional secretary and additional project director (finance and administration) of Line-5 of DMTCL, has been appointed as the new managing director of DMTCL.
The deposed Awami League government appointed Siddique as the managing director of DMTCL on Oct 26, 2017.
In 1983, Siddique joined the Bangladesh Civil Service Administration cadre and became the secretary of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges on Sept 3, 2014. He served in this role until Oct 11, 2017.
