Dhaka, Aug 31 (BDNEWS) – A Speedy Trial Tribunal Court Wednesday sentenced to death to seven persons in the Moyeen Khan Imon killing case.
The convicts are Sohel Riaz Pappu, Shahriar Hossain Jasim, Lallu Uddin Lalu, Meer Mohammad Riaz, Shah Alam, Ratan and Tipu.
Of the seven convicts, Shah Alam confessed before the court to his own involvement in the killing of Moyeen Khan Imon.
The court also acquitted two others -- Hasibul Huq Biplab and Zakir Hossain Sohel.
Imon who was a contractor was murdered on April 29, in 2003, at Noor Jahan Road.
He was a resident of Tajmahal Road under Mohammadpur thana and picked up from the Bangladesh Medical in Dhanmondi by the miscreants.
