Monday’s 5.1 magnitude quake was centred in India’s West Bengal, Reuters said quoting the US Geological Survey.
It was less severe than Saturday's 7.8 quake in Nepal followed by aftershocks that laid the Himalayan country in ruins.
A Reuters reporter from India’s Patna said everything was shaking as the quake hit, triggering panic among people who rushed out of their homes.
Bangladesh’s northern region also felt the tremor.
No damage or casualties was immediately reported.
