In line with prices on the international market, the government has reduced the retail price of all types of fuel by Tk 2 per litre for the month of February.

The Energy and Mineral Resources Division of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources announced the decision on Saturday night.

A notice said fuel prices had been reset for February under the revised pricing formula, using an automatic mechanism that tracks global oil movements, to keep supplies available at relatively affordable rates for consumers.

After the adjustment, the retail price of diesel will fall from Tk 102 to Tk 100 per litre in February. Similarly, the price of octane will be reduced from Tk 122 to Tk 120 per litre.

The price of petrol will drop from Tk 118 to Tk 116 per litre, while kerosene will go down from Tk 114 to Tk 112 per litre.

The new rates will take effect from Sunday.

Earlier, for the first month of the year, the government also reduced the price of all types of fuel by Tk 2 per litre.

The government has been adjusting domestic fuel prices on a monthly basis through an automatic pricing mechanism to keep them aligned with international market rates.
