In Gazipur, a group of people set a bus of Anabil Paribahan ablaze and escaped the scene

Two buses have been set ablaze in Gazipur and Chattogram on the night before the 72-hour blockade to be enforced by the BNP and also the Jamaat-e-Islami.
A bus was torched in front of the Bhawal Badre Alam College in Gazipur around 8:15pm on Monday, while the other was set alight in Chattogram’s Garibullah Mazar area at around 10pm.
In Gazipur, a group of eight to 10 people set a bus of Anabil Paribahan on fire and escaped the scene. The bus was parked on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway outside the college .
Some parts of the bus were burnt before locals brought the fire under control, said Assistant Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police Fahim Ashzaz, citing witnesses.
“There were no casualties as the driver and passengers in the bus got off quickly during the incident. Police are investigating to find the culprits behind the incident,” said Abu Siddique, chief of Bason Police Station chief Abu Siddique said.
In Chattogram, the torched bus that carried wedding guests was parked outside a community centre in the Garibullah Shah shrine area.
Fire service personnel appeared at the scene and extinguished the fire after receiving information at around 9:55pm, said Abdur Razzaq, a fire service official.
