The US Embassy in Dhaka says those engaged in visa fraud will face a lifetime ban from entering the United States.

The announcement came in a post published on the embassy’s verified Facebook page on Monday morning.

The US government, working with several agencies and departments, will take measures to prevent visa fraud and curb illegal immigration, the embassy said.

“Those who commit visa fraud will be banned from the United States for life.”

The embassy added that a nation cannot function without secure borders, warning that criminal charges will be pursued against those who commit visa fraud or assist in bringing and harbouring illegal immigrants in the United States.
