Dhaka, June 17 (BDNEWS) – Hundreds of mobile-crazy people, mostly youths, thronged the Mobile Mela of Banglalink Friday at the Bashundhara City market to fulfil their queries about Banglalink SIMs and the latest mobile-sets.
Besides the Banglalink SIMs, their interests were on new mobile handsets and in taking part in different events, including music and game competition in the fair.
The 5-day Banglalink Bashundhara Mobile Mela 2005 is offering SIM cards (connections) charging extra Tk 1,200 duty, though it, earlier, had pledged to provide SIMS at old prices.
The visitors as well as customers of the fair were seen searching suitable mobile sets from the 43 stalls of the fair at reasonable prices.
Lars P Reichelt, chief executive officer of the Banglalink, inaugurated the fair.
Talking to BDNEWS, Omer Rashid, director marketing of the Banglalink, said, "Though we could not provide SIMs at their old rates, we enhanced our offers, including free sms, handsets at a reduced price, standard coverage, products and value added services, interactive games and music shows."
The Mobile Mela will remain open for public everyday from 10am to 9pm with an entry fee of Tk 10 till June 21.
The number of subscribers of Banglalink has reached over 400,000 and the coverage expanded from 9 districts to 33 districts throughout the country within 4 months from its date of launching.
