Jose Mourinho is in final negotiations to return as Real Madrid head coach, 13 years after his first stint at the Bernabeu, BBC Sport reports.
The 63-year-old, reportedly the sole candidate in talks with the club, is poised to replace Alvaro Arbeloa, who filled the vacancy left by Xabi Alonso in January.
Real Madrid President Florentino Perez reportedly contacted Mourinho’s camp immediately after Alonso’s exit.
Mourinho, currently under contract at Benfica, declined to comment on the move ahead of their fixture against Estoril, stating he would address his future on Monday.
