Chief Justice SK Sinha-led bench on Sunday scrapped a ‘leave-to-appeal’ plea by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
The ACC filed a case with Dhanmondi police on Oct 7, 2007 against Manju. It pressed charges in court against Manju and his wife on Mar 20, 2008.
A Dhaka court sentenced him to 13 years in prison.
Manju moved the High Court, which overturned the verdict. The ACC filed a ‘leave-to-appeal’ with the Appellate Division in 2012 against the decision.
ACC counsel AKM Fazlul Haq told bdnews24.com that the apex court threw out the ACC plea on Sunday.
