The Awami League leader was talking to reporters at his residence at Mohonpur area of Uttar Matlab Upazila in Chandpur district.

He also expressed hope that the party would overcome these problems soon and would do better in the next phases of elections.

In the first-phase of elections to the local body, held in 97 Upazilas on February 19, the BNP-backed candidates secured 42 chairman posts and those backed by the AL won 34.
