The National Citizen Party (NCP) has given candidates an additional week to submit nomination papers for the approaching parliamentary polls.
The previous deadline was Nov 13, a Thursday.
Although the party had called a press conference that afternoon to discuss the nomination process, it was later cancelled.
In an evening statement, the NCP extended the deadline for nomination applications to Nov 20.
Applicants can collect forms either from the party’s central office or online via nomination.ncpbd.org.
NCP Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary wrote in a Facebook post, “Many who wanted to collect the nomination forms could not do so for multiple reasons. Considering that, the time has been extended by a week.”
On Nov 6, briefing the media, Patwary said the nomination form price starts at Tk 10,000, or Tk 2,000 for July Uprising victims, labourers, farmers, porters, or daily wage earners.
