BNP dismisses reports of Tarique Rahman’s illness as ‘false’

The party urges media to verify information before publishing

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party has denied reports claiming that its Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has fallen ill.

According to a media statement issued by the party’s media cell on Saturday night, the reports circulating in several newspapers and on social media about Tarique’s illness are “not true”.

“The news about his illness is false. He is in good health,” said Moudud Hossain Alamgir Pavel, convenor of the BNP’s media cell.

He urged journalists and media outlets to verify the accuracy of information before publishing such reports.
