Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former President AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, calling his death a great loss to the nation.

In a message of condolence issued on Saturday, he described Chowdhury as a distinguished public servant and a respected politician.

"I pray for the departed soul. May Allah grant him a beautiful place in Jannatul Ferdows," said Yunus.

He fondly recalled Badruddoza’s contributions as an eminent physician and public servant.

"Through his widely admired 'Apnar Doctor' programme on BTV, he spread the message of well-being to millions," Yunus added.

In his tribute, the chief advisor also highlighted Badruddoza’s political career, noting his role as a five-time MP and his key involvement in the country’s democratic transition in the 1990s.

"His parliamentary speeches earned respect from politicians across all parties," he said.

Yunus hoped that Badruddoza's family, friends, and well-wishers would find the strength to bear the loss.

He urged the public to learn from his life and commit themselves to the welfare of the people and democracy.
