Two children are among seven members of a family who have been killed after a short circuit sparked a fire in India’s Mumbai, NDTV reports.
The incident took place around 5am local time in Chembur's Sidharth Colony on Sunday.
The fire started in a store on the ground floor housing electrical goods before spreading to the upper floors, where a family lived, officials said.
The victims were identified as Paris Gupta, 7, Narendra Gupta, 10, Manju Prem Gupta, 30, Anita Gupta, 39, Prem Gupta, 30, Vidhi Gupta, and Geeta Gupta.
All of them were rushed to the hospital, but were declared dead upon arrival, NDTV says.
