Dhaka on high alert before AL anniversary

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police has stepped up security across the capital ahead of the 77th founding anniversary of the Awami League, which remains banned from political activities. Barricades have been set up on Dhanmondi 32, while searches and checkpoints are in place at key points. Vehicles and pedestrians are being stopped and questioned.
