Apollo Chennai and Dhaka clinic host joint medical conference for doctors

The event brings together nearly 100 Bangladeshi medical students, postgraduate residents and consultant physicians

Apollo Hospitals Chennai, in collaboration with Dhaka’s Apollo Clinic -- which operates under the licensee JMI Specialised Hospital -- has organised an International Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme for doctors.

The event, held on Sunday, brought together nearly 100 Bangladeshi medical students, postgraduate residents, and consultant physicians to exchange knowledge with internationally renowned experts in robotic urology, laparoscopic surgery, and endoscopic procedures, according to a media statement issued by the JMI Specialised Hospital and Apollo Hospitals, Chennai.

The keynote presentations were delivered by Dr Deepak Raghavan, senior consultant and robotic urology surgeon at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, and Dr Md Nasir Uddin (Kajol), senior consultant in the urology department at Apollo Clinic Dhanmondi.

The event was moderated by the clinic’s Chief Executive Officer Dr Tamjeed Alam.

According to the clinic, the programme strengthens collaboration between the JMI Specialised Hospital and Apollo Hospitals, which operates more than 76 hospitals and over 700 clinics across several countries.

The partnership aims to expand access to world-class healthcare services in Bangladesh, reducing the need for patients to seek treatment abroad while supporting the country's healthcare sector.

Apollo Clinic Dhanmondi also highlighted its recent clinical performance, saying it has treated more than 15,000 outpatients, managed over 1,800 inpatients, and performed more than 1,000 surgical procedures.

The clinic reported a surgical site infection rate of less than 1 percent, which it said reflects its commitment to patient safety and quality of care.
