The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said on Wednesday that 157 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country over the last 24 hours.

According to the daily health bulletin, hospitals in the Dhaka North City Corporation recorded 28 new admissions, while facilities under the Dhaka South City Corporation took in 29 patients during the one-day period.

Outside the twin city corporations in the capital, the division-wise breakdown of new cases included 11 in Dhaka, 56 in Barishal, 16 in Chattogram, 10 in Khulna, three in Mymensingh, and four in Rajshahi.

A total of 119 patients were discharged after recovery in the same period.

Since Jan 1, a total of 5,317 people have been hospitalised with dengue, of whom 4,919 have recovered and been discharged.
