The number of COVID-19 cases in Chattogram has continued to rise, with authorities reporting nine new cases of the infection in a daily count.

The cases were logged over a 24-hour period until 4pm on Sunday, according to the Chattogram District Civil Surgeon’s Office.

Civil Surgeon Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that samples from 150 people were tested at four private hospitals and diagnostic centres in the city.

Among those newly infected, seven are from the port city.

The total number of confirmed cases in Chattogram now stands at 18, with 15 of them from the city.
